The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe, within the SWG EC project: “Fostering regional cooperation and balanced territorial development of Western Balkan countries in the process towards EU integration”, will support the organization of the regional manifestation “Regional competition in food preparation of the cross-border region Drina-Sava“, which will be organized by the Tourist Organization of municipality Bogatic, Bogatic, Serbia and will be held on 10^th March 2017, in Bogatic, Serbia.

The aim of this regional manifestation is promotion of national cuisines from the cross-border region of ”Drina-Sava“, preservation and promotion of traditional ways for preparing products, as well as support of the development of the Women Association that deals with old domestic craft.

The specific objective of this regional manifestation is exchange of experiences and sharing the example of “good practice” between contestants and teachers. The manifestation will gather high schools from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, which belong to the cross-border region “Drina-Sava”, whose representatives will compete in two categories of food preparation. The pairs will compete in two categories: I – national menu, based on the traditional dish of each region and II – contemporary gastronomy, a dish of their own choice.

This regional manifestation will contribute to the development of gastro-tourism, strengthening women’s entrepreneurship and providing opportunities for generating economic income.

A brochure and a short promotional movie will result as output from the manifestation. The brochure will be in the form of a “cookbook”, where the manifestation will be presented and which will contain recipes of meals that will be prepared during the competition, and it will also contain presentation of all competitors and partners of the project. The short promo movie will be prepared for presenting the manifestation and the competitors, and it will serve for promotion of the cross-border region of “Drina-Sava” and promotion of the gastronomic offer of the region.
