The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe within the SWG EC project: “Fostering regional cooperation and balanced territorial development of Western Balkan countries in the process towards EU integration” supported the organization of the regional traditional event: 48. Ilok Grape Harvest which will be organized in the period 29.08-06.09.2015, in Ilok, Croatia.
In Ilok traditionally from 1962. maintained vineyard, cultural, entertaining and tourist event “The wine harvest of Ilok”. It is derived from an old Srijem and Slavonian custom of assembling of inhabitants during the beginning of the harvest to guard the vineyards (Pudarina), celebrating a good year and harvest and the inevitable gathering, especially young people. During the whole event, there were a lot of happenings such as: celebration of the beginning of the grape harvest, folklore program in vineyards Vukovo, international tennis competition, event “Night of wine“ – wine degustation, music program, etho fasion show, folklore event „Iločko ljeto/ Summer in Ilok“, children art workshop – painting the grape, Philatelic exhibition in Town Museum, riding through the streets and equestrian competition, event “Wine cluster Srijem evening” and expert workshop for winemakers with wine degustation.
