“Divan je kićeni Srijem”, 17-19 June 2016, Nijemci, Croatia

The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe, within the SWG EC project: “Fostering regional cooperation and balanced territorial development of Western Balkan countries in the process towards EU integration”, supported the organization of the manifestation “Divan je kićeni Srijem” which was organized by the Tourist board of the Municipality of Nijemci in the period of 17 – 19 June 2016.

The manifestation “Divan je kićeni Srijem” was traditionally held for the twentieth time, organized by the Municipality of Nijemci and the Tourist board of Nijemci The manifestation objective was to promote natural and cultural heritage of the region, as well as to promote domestic products. During the three-day manifestation several events were organized, such as:

  • ”Sijelo puckih pisaca” – which promoted cultural heritage;
  • ”Tamburasi u Srijemu” – promoted traditional music of the region and provided opportunity for promotion of different NGOs working in the field of preservation of culture and tradition. Additional to that, different children’s and adult folklore groups had the opportunity to present themselves;
  • Tourism Fair – which gathered exhibitors from cities and municipalities of the cross-border region “Drina-Sava”, who presented their rural tourism offer and wide assortment of domestic products, such as: traditional food, wine, brandy, traditional home-made cheese, honey and honey products, traditionally prepared winter store products, herbs, natural creams and ointments, as well as handmade unique regional souvenirs.

The Fair was also used for presentation of the beneficiaries from the ABD Grant Scheme, the beekeeping association ”Udruga Pcelara Opstine Nijemci”, who used the Fair to present their achievements and investments made under the ABD Grant Scheme, as well as for selling their honey products.
