The aim of the regional event “Meeting of raspberry producers from the cross-border region Drina-Tara, Visegrad 2017” is to promote knowledge and cooperation, as a good instrument for development of raspberry production in the region, which in the future may become the leader in this agricultural sector. This event promotes the tradition of fruit production of the region, which is recognized as a fruit-growing area for many years, with a production of high-quality fruits.

This regional event will contribute to increment of cohesion and recognition of the cross-border region through increased awareness of the shared values that create a specific image and identity of the region and strengthening the communication and cooperation between the stakeholders operating in the cross-border region of Drina-Tara. In addition, by raising new plantations, as well as educated and connected breeders, a good basis will be created for further development of the raspberry production. It is expected to result in creation of opportunity for generating economic income and increase of revenues in other sectors, as well as increase of the living standards.

This activity is part of the European Union funded project: “Fostering regional cooperation and balanced territorial development of Western Balkan countries in the process towards EU integration” implemented by the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe.
